One of the greats is gone.
I was lucky enough to see him perform, emcee and lecture several times in Belgium, London and Blackpool. I also saw him when I attended the filming of a couple of videos he produced for others. He was a great performer, teacher and storyteller and will be missed by many.
He also invented the easy money trick which several of you perform in more recent incarnations. His sponge ball routine is one of my favorites. He was a good writer, notably of the Goshman book.
I am currently working on something which I saw in one of his lectures which I hope to be able to show you all in the next couple of months as part of a short set that I will want you to critique. |

Another of the great ones has gone. And it seems to be happening a lot these days.

Mike, Thanks for sharing some of those more personal insights about Patrick Page. Sadly I have only seen him perform via an IMS video (which does not work anymore - another story all together). And I agree, from the video he was a great performer and lecturer.
I note too that every now and then I will come across a magician mentioning his name as the originator or inspiration of a trick. He obviously was had an impact on many magicians
I am glad I at least have something written by Patrick Page - two old booklets which I purchased cheap a few months ago second hand. It's from the Wolfe Magic book series: Tricks with Paper and Tricks with Handkerchiefs. Published in 1974 - originally priced at 35 p each _________________ "If a person is not watching it, it is not magic!" - Tim Ellis |

I just bought his The Big Book Of Magic from www.lybrary.com last week...
It's really sad to know that he has passed away...
I actually wish to see him perform live 1 day...
Paul Long: His Book of Visual Comedy is quite good as well. If you got chance you should get it. Good for clown act & Sunday School drama. |
